1. Job Title - General labourers
Type of Job - Fish Farmers
a. Fish farm hands assist with the growing and cultivation of fish and the
maintenance of fish farm premises and equipment.
Responsibilities:
* feed and grade fish and monitor their growth
* check and look after all equipment and fish housing
* operate pumps and other equipment
* test and check on water quality
* remove dead or dying fish
* harvest fish, and sort and pack for transportation
* maintain farm records.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
1. Accommodation - Provided.

5. Working hours - 9a.m-6p.m [mon-sat]

Job Description: catch fish, crustacean and molluscs with equipment such as

and inland waters.
Responsibilities:
* attach runners, weights, buoys, anchors, poles, stakes, wood or metal
beams to nets, traps or pots
* tie nets together to form fleets of nets and fasten towing cables to
nets
* set and haul nets, anchors, lines and pots
* sort, clean, process, preserve and package catch
* repair nets and assist in the operation and maintenance of vessels and
equipment
* load, unload and stow supplies and equipment
* operate dinghies and dories
* operate winches and other deck equipment.
With experience and perhaps further training, a fisher may be promoted to
the position of
Skipper who, in addition to the above, may perform the following tasks:
* organise the provision and storage of food
* organise maintenance, preparation and operation of vessels
* plan the operation of vessels to maximise profits by selecting fishing
grounds and the nature and amount of processing to be carried out on-board
* select the buyer to sell the catch to, and vary plans to take
advantage of the best market conditions
* safely operate and navigate vessels
* make sure the catch is properly handled and stowed
* hire and supervise the crew.
The methods used to catch fish may vary and include the use of pots, line
fishing, trawling, net fishing, SCUBA and surface supplied breathing
apparatus to work inshore reefs, etc.
Fishers work in all types of weather conditions and spend long hours at sea.
Conditions can be cramped while at sea, and fishers may be required to work
odd hours. Shifts could be four hours of work, followed by four hours of
sleep.
